The name of singer Ataullah Khan Issa Khelvi certainly does not need any introduction but his children have created their own unique and distinct identity.
His daughter Larib Ata has worked as a visual artist for the popular Hollywood film ‘James Bond’ which has hit the British and American box offices. Larib has been working for Hollywood for the past 10 years.
She also has to work as a visual artist for Credit Permission Impossible and Fast & Furious.
Larib is the only Pakistani to have been nominated for the Visual Effects Society Award in 2019.
Larib gives all the credit for her success to her brother Sanol Issa Khelvi. She says that her brother played a fatherly role for her in this journey. Sanol is continuing his career as a musician.
The two siblings participated in SAMAA’s program ‘Niadan’ via video link from USA and UK and had an interesting conversation.

I have been in the world of singing for 41 years, I started singing at the age of 16 and I was kicked out of the house for the same crime and I continued my struggle and finally God gave me that destination. The burning and pain in my song is natural. Ataullah Issa Khilvi said that I am indebted to every person of Pakistani nation who showed love and affection to me. In response to a question, he said that after Ayub Khan, most pictures are taken behind the trucks and 90% of the truck drivers listen to my songs because I have been driving a truck for a long time.
