Jawariya Shahbaz, daughter of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) President Shahbaz Sharif, was married on Saturday night in a simple but dignified ceremony at Raiwind on the outskirts of Lahore. He was dismissed by his mother and brother.
His father Shahbaz Sharif was not present at the wedding to bid him farewell. He is currently living in exile in Saudi Arabia and is not allowed to return home.
Jawaira Shahbaz’s wedding ceremony was held at Raiwind Farm, a residential area of the Sharif family. Only people close to his family attended the wedding, and media representatives were barred from attending.
In the absence of Shahbaz Sharif, Hamza Shahbaz dismissed him. His family sources said that instead of Shahbaz Sharif, his son Hamza Shahbaz laid his hands on Jawariya Kesar in the traditional way and sent him away to his father-in-law.
At the time of his departure, his father Shahbaz Sharif’s phone rang and Nusrat could not control himself and started crying. His son consoled him. Apart from Shahbaz Sharif, Jawariya’s grandfather Mian Muhammad Sharif, Taya ie former Prime Minister Mian Nawaz Sharif and other family members based in Jeddah spoke to him and other members of the family on the phone.
Jawariya is married to her cousin Ali Yusuf. Rabia’s second daughter is expected to get married in October. Shahbaz Sharif’s two daughters Jawariya and Rabia had returned home with their mother two weeks ago.
According to newspaper reports these days, the conditions on which the government allowed her to stay in Pakistan for two months included that the marriage would not be turned into a political festival and that the women of the Shahbaz family Will not issue such political statements.
Her family members are also reluctant to release any information about her marriage. Former Prime Minister Mian Nawaz Sharif’s government was overthrown in a peaceful military coup and he was deported along with his family after being held captive in Pakistan for several months.
According to the government, he has been deported under an agreement, while the Sharif family has always refused such an agreement. Among those deported were Nawaz Sharif’s brother and former Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif and his wife and children.
Jawariya’s father and PML-N president Mian Shahbaz Sharif also made an attempt to return home on May 11, but was deported to Saudi Arabia from the airport.
