Mawra Hooken talks about marriage, career and her unique name
Working actress and model Mawra Hooken relaxes with DES Blitz in an exclusive interview about her work, career and personal life.
Mawra Hooken is an outstanding actress of television and film and is one of the famous personalities of Pakistan.
We started our acting career in TV at the age of 19 My Hazur, (2012) She has been dominating the acting scene ever since.
“Going back to university while acting made me quite grounded.”
We meet Mawra in Birmingham, where she lets us talk about behind-the-scenes gossip as well as more about the famous lady in a special gossip with DESIblitz.
Life and career
Like his personality, Starlet’s name is just as unique.Her nickname, Hookin, has raised a lot of eyebrows in the past.”The first question in every interview is always about my nickname.”
“Mawra means outstanding. My first name was very unique but I shared my second name (Hussein) with a lot of my classmates.
“Therefore, I wrote this fake request to my teachers, saying that it was not a spelling of my name and that is how I changed it. I didn’t think it would become a national issue later.
A round woman, Mawra has a strong academic record, acting and modeling career.
She has been associated with the haircare brand, Sunsilk, as well as being a Lux Girl
When asked about his many abilities, he humbly replied:
“Only when you guys talk about it will I realize what’s going on.”
“I think when you are an actor who becomes a model for the brand, the work goes hand in hand. I never thought of it as ‘Oh, I’m modeling.’ You basically just act, even on the ramp. ”
Despite being internationally recognized as an actress and model, the 25-year-old is also a law graduate and holds a diploma in fashion.
“Growing up, I did theater in my hometown and then I went to Karachi to pursue my career.
“Then I felt the need to be normal. My other friends were taking degrees. I was working and their convocation was taking place and I found it very attractive.
“I have been an actor before. For as long as I can remember, I wanted to act.
“I loved attention as a child. I was 8 when I told my mother I wanted to be Miss Kainat. I got that attention at home or at school.”
She says balancing her work schedule and her academic life has been challenging, although it has its own advantages.
“I thought I could live a normal life if I got a degree. Going back to university while acting gave me a lot of ground.
“I did my first film before my Indian film, then I came back from India and did another two years. Because of this, most of the time I am brought back to real life.
A graduate of the University of London, she also maintains a close relationship with her sister, Urwa Hocne, who is known for her romantic comedy Punjab Nahi Jaongi.
“I’m sure we’re both very supportive. But in the support system I have, I don’t think it’s in me.
“If I have to choose the best sister of the two of us, it’s definitely because she always looks the best in me, always encourages me, I didn’t think I could do it all. Until he told me I could.
She warmly reveals:
“It really helps her. As sisters, you support each other and love each other, but she is a special sister.”
“I wish everyone had the same sister because I am the cause of everything I am today. I am sure she knows this but it is a fact of my life.
Like the characters she portrays in film and television, she sees herself as a “disappointing romantic.”
“I always listened to Bollywood songs and dreamed about my favorite things or people during the day.”
Despite its softness, marriage is never on Mawra’s card.
“I don’t see myself settling in for the next five years, but one day for sure.”
The Karachi-born actress emphasizes how love affairs are “things you shouldn’t plan on.”
“I’m watching my sister and brother-in-law and they just fell in love, and they got married.”
Film career
Hooken started the long awaited release of Pakistani film.
Veteran actors Humayun Saeed, Kabra Khan, Wasay Chaudhry, Ahmed Ali Butt, Fahad Mustafa and Kanwaljit Singh are playing the role of Spinky Zoo.
Sammy is the fresh face of the actress. The youth will not come again. The franchise wants to see more in the movie with the audience.
The role of Starlet in it was presented very easily.
“It was my birthday and my director Nadeem told me he had a gift for me. I asked him what it was and he said it was his next film. So, at that moment, I thought, ‘I’m doing this movie.’
“Since it was Wasee’s script and Nadeem was directing it, I knew I would do it.”
She not only acted in Bollywood and Lollywood, but also gave victory to the drama industry.
“I like TV more. I prefer dramas over movies. The drama industry in Pakistan is so big. You have so many choices.
“While the film industry is still booming, you have no choice. I prefer dramas but I hope I can manage both.
Her development in the film industry was across the border Sanam Teri Qassam, (2016) a Bollywood film.
Hocane tells us how she got into this role.
“They saw one of my shows on Hum TV. As you know, our plays are bigger than our movies. They called me and the funny thing is I cried a lot when I was a kid.
When I got a call for the first Indian film, he said, “We have auditioned a lot of girls. We want someone to cry and look beautiful.” So, I was like wow do I just get another character to cry? So that’s how I landed. ”
In terms of future plans, he is overwhelmed by his upcoming film Youth Will Never Come Again and Series Aangan.
“It simply came to our notice then. We have 30 episodes on TV. I’m really looking forward to it.
The Pakistani superstar has already given guidance in television, we have hope for a future career in cinema.
