Well known social activist Abdul Sattar Edhi’s wife Bilquis Edhi has passed away. She had been undergoing treatment at a private hospital in Karachi for the past two days but now she has passed away. According to the spokesperson of Edhi Foundation, Bilquis Edhi was suffering from other ailments including heart disease and two days ago she was brought to the hospital due to high blood pressure.
Bilquis Bano Edhi was a nurse. She is known as Mother Pakistan. She was born in 1947 in Karachi. Bilquis Edhi was the head of the foundation and with her husband she received the 1986 Ramon Magsaysay Award for public service. The government of Pakistan awarded her the Hilal-e-Imtiaz while India awarded her the Mother Teresa Award 2015.
