Untold Love Story Of Dilip Kumar And Saira Bano

Dilip Kumar, who ruled over millions of hearts, not only lost his fans on July 7, 2021, but also left his wife Saira Bano, who had been with him for 57 years, alone.

Dilip Kumar, who had on-screen romances with beautiful actresses like Kamni, Kashal and Madhu Bala, fell in love with Saira Bano in 1960 when she was just 17 years old.

Saira Bano was a fan of Dilip Kumar even before he became an important part of her life and one day she came to see and meet him for the premiere of Dilip Kumar’s film ‘Mughal Azam’ but unfortunately Dilip Kumar premiered. I could not attend and Saira Bano could not meet him.

Saira Bano was the daughter of Naseem Bano, a popular actress of the time and that is why it was easy for her to enter the film world and a year later she too became a part of the world of glamor and then her relationship with Dilip Kumar began to grow.

Saira Bano could not meet Dilip Kumar at the premiere of the film ‘Mughal Azam’ but a year later when Saira made her Bollywood debut with the film ‘Jangali’, her name started appearing in the industry.

Early in her film career, Saira Bano worked with actors like Shami Kapoor, Biswajit, Joy Mukherjee, Rajendra Kumar and Dilip Kumar herself. However, Saira Bano initially liked Rajendra Kumar for marriage but Rajendra was married. Cause this relationship to end.

Saira Bano’s mother Naseem Bano is said to have actually asked Dilip Kumar to persuade her daughter to fall in love with married hero Rajendra Kumar and while working on the same project, Mughal emperor Saleem Khobro Saira became a prisoner of Banu’s oppression.

By the time the love affair between Saira Bano and Dilip Kumar awoke, the emperor’s feelings had lasted for four decades, while Saira Bano was still in her teens, but the two decided to unite without looking at the age and career differences. Even the Bollywood pundits of that time were amazed.

The couple got married on October 11, 1966 after spending a few years in a relationship, when Dilip Kumar was 44 years old and Saira Bano was only 22 years old.

During this time many people saw the difference in their age and said that this marriage will not last long. However, despite completing 57 years, the two actors stayed together and together in every good and bad time. But on July 7, 2021, death separated Dilip Kumar from Saira Bano.

Although Saira Bano worked in films for some time after her marriage, she formally separated from films in 1975 and decided to live as a housewife.

Due to old age and changing trends in Bollywood, Dilip Kumar also gradually separated from the industry and his last film was released in 1998.

Although the marriage of Saira Bano and Dilip Kumar is considered an ideal marriage, unfortunately they did not have children, which both regretted.

Dilip Kumar had revealed in his autobiography in 2014 that he was expecting a child in 1972 but unfortunately it did not happen.

Dilip Kumar had said in the book that Saira Bano had lost her 8-month pregnancy due to other medical reasons including blood pressure and at the same time the doctors had told her that the actress would not be able to become a mother again.

Emperor Jazbat also lamented in his book that he had no children and wished that if he had his own children, he would have inherited them and carried on their affairs, but perhaps this was not his destiny and That’s why they don’t regret it very much.
